Focus: Introduction to artifacts as one important type of source

Sources
Source A: Various physical artifacts from the past with which students are not necessarily familiar (i.e. fish skinner, egg beater, old fashioned iron)

Activities
1. Students make observations and inferences about physical artifacts (using an Observation-Inference T Chart).
2. Students construct individual and group definitions of artifact.
